Add-on Injection Units
An add-on injection unit enables the conversion of a standard injection molding machine into a multi-shot system capable of handling different materials or colors. This flexibility allows manufacturers to switch between various types of jobs using a single machine, eliminating the need for separate dedicated 2-shot machines.

Plasdan's injection units can be tailored to meet the specific production needs of a facility. As manufacturing requirements change over time, they can be moved to different machines, providing manufacturers with the flexibility to refine and optimize their processes in response to evolving market conditions or customer requirements.

Add-on injection units extend beyond basic 2-shot molding to enable advanced techniques like Duplex Molding. This strategy employs two molds in a single machine, in a stack mold-like orientation. The main machine’s injection unit fills one mold, while an auxiliary unit fills the second, effectively doubling output in a single cycle. This approach leverages the add-on units' flexibility and maximizes production efficiency.

Rotary Multi-Shot Products
Plasdan is a World leading supplier for technologic solutions in rotary equipment for molds. A huge range of rotary tables and index plates provide endless combinations for highly complex tooling involving multi-material and component assembly. Evolve your standard injection molding machine into a multi-shot capable machine.

The full electric rotary table is a positioning device, fixed to the machine platen. It is equipped with an electric servomotor for fast and precise rotation and positioning of the respective mold half. When supplied with other addons from Plasdan it will share the same PLC and controller for ease of application and extremely user friendly.

The Plasdan Lift and Turn system involves lifting a component from one cavity, rotating and retracting into a new cavity allowing for the over moulding of a second material or colour. This is achieved through a combination of servomotor for rotation and machine ejection for the lift and retract.

Cube Mold Systems with PROVEN RELIABILITY. A cube mold is a specialized mold design that enables multi-sided or multi-component injection within a single mold cycle. Cube molds allow for more complex part designs, reduced cycle times, and integrated assembly processes, making them particularly useful for multi-material or multi-color applications.

How a cube mold works
• The heart of a cube mold is its rotating core. The core is able to rotate within the mold, allowing different sides of the cube to face the injection nozzles. As the core rotates, different parts of the mold can be injected with plastic. For example, one side of the cube might receive one color or material of plastic, and then the cube can be rotated to have another side receive a different color or material.
• This process enables a single mold to produce multi-component or multi-material parts in one cycle, rather than requiring multiple molds or multiple molding steps. This can significantly reduce cycle times.
• In cases where a product consists of multiple parts that need to be assembled, a cube mold can integrate the molding and assembly processes. The rotating core allows for parts to be molded in relation to each other, and some designs might even allow for assembled parts to be ejected from the mold.
